Marko Arnautovic scored his first West Ham goal to ensure manager David Moyes earned his first win for the side in their 1-0 triumph over champions Chelsea.

Moyes, who recently joined the Hammers, won his first game in charge after five games.

But despite the win, the West London club remain in the dreaded relegation waters on 13 points from 16 games.

On their part, the loss was Chelsea’s third in the Premier League this season.

It means they could be 14 points adrift of leaders Manchester City when this weekend’s games are completed.

City take on rivals Manchester United in a top-of-the-table clash at Old Trafford.

Speaking on his side’s win over the champions, Arnautovic said, “We had to work hard, as a striker we had to do many other jobs as well – defence and offence.

“I can’t describe my feelings, it was amazing. All the players what they did was amazing and we deserve the three points. I wanted to do it (score) on my first day at West Ham but I think I am back on track. I don’t want this to be my last goal. I want to make the club happy.

“The last few weeks we have put in a lot of work but we were not always lucky. I think it is come back and the confidence is going to be high now. We beat one of the top teams. Now we have to look to go up the table.”
