Salah Beats Moses To BBC African Player Of The Year
Egypt’s Mohamed Salah has won the 2017 BBC African Footballer of the Year award, beating Nigeria’s Victor Moses.
He was announced the winner on Monday on BBC Sports Verified Twitter handle.
The award was decided by votes from fans.
Salah, who has been in fine form for Liverpool and his country, also beat Gabon and Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; Naby Keita of Guinea and Leipzig; and Sadio Mane of Senegal and Liverpool.
He is currently the highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 13 goals and is in the running for the 2017 Caf Player of the Year Award.
The former Roma star thus becomes the third Egyptian to land the award.
Mohamed Barakat had won it in 2005 while Mohamed Aboutrika emerged the winner in 2008.
