DMX will be sent back to jail for failing drug tests
DMX is going back to jail for violating his probation in his tax evasion case which he pleaded guilty to last month to avoid the $1.7 million in taxes which he owed.. The rapper was taken into custody in a Manhattan court Tuesday morning for failing drug tests.
According to TMZ, the judge ruled that he was a flight risk after testing positive for opiates, cocaine and oxycodone. Part of his bail terms was for him to stay away from drugs and alcohol.
DMX was supposed to be completing rehab while he was out on bail in his tax evasion case and had even been given some leeway to travel for performances as of recently, but after he failed his drug tests, he was sent back to jail.
U.S. Attorney Spokesman Nicholas Biase says prosecutors refered to the video TMZ posted of DMX last week, which showed him looking like he was high, as he preached in a St. Louis airport bar, where witnesses said he was drinking and buying shots for other people there. Heavy drinking is also a probation violation.
He’s set to be sentenced in March.
