Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey says an “exciting time” awaits the Premier League club following the arrival of Unai Emery as manager.
The Welshman, whose current contact with the side is one year away from ending, suggested he could extend his stay under the Spaniard.
Ramsey has been in talks with the north London club over a new deal for several months.
According to Sky sources, Emery intends to make the Wales international central to his plans at the Emirates.
Speaking after his country’s goalless draw with Mexico on Tuesday, Ramsey gave his backing to the former Paris St Germain coach.
“Of course. I haven’t spoken to him at all yet, but I think it’s an exciting time for the club,” Ramsey replied when asked if he was looking forward to working with Emery.
“I can’t wait to get back there now.”
